City of Edmonton Rainbow Registered Partnership

Information, News, Rainbow Registered

This project is in partnership with the City of Edmonton through the Beyond Belonging: The 2SLGBTQIA+ Safe Spaces Action Plan.

Helping Edmonton businesses become Rainbow Registered

Rainbow Registered and the City of Edmonton are working together to support Edmonton-based businesses and organizations in becoming Rainbow Registered.

Through the Beyond Belonging: The 2SLGBTQIA+ Safe Spaces Action Plan, the City of Edmonton is committed to designing safer spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ community members and to embedding inclusion into how it operates. The City is covering the registration cost of up to $800 per business for Edmonton organizations that become Rainbow Registered, subject to available City of Edmonton funding. Applicants will be notified if the program’s financial allotment is reached and encouraged to apply the following calendar year.

About the opportunity

Eligible Edmonton-based businesses and organizations are able to access funding support to complete the Rainbow Registered accreditation process.

Rainbow Registered is Canada’s national accreditation for 2SLGBTQI+ inclusive businesses and organizations. Administered by the Canadian Queer Chamber of Commerce, the program helps organizations demonstrate that their policies, practices, training, leadership, and customer-facing culture support meaningful inclusion.
